what is spam tagging?

iiSpam Tagging allows you to check your e-mail and know instantly which messages are spam and which are personal. Our software scans your e-mail message and compares it to a very comprehensive list of rules and classes that help determine whether the mail message may be spam or not.

It will then re-write the e-mail headers to include information about the spam tagging, as well as adding to the e-mail subject line: iiSPAM

The rest of the e-mail content (the body) remains untouched.

This method allows you to know at first glance, which of your e-mail messages have been marked as spam, and which have not. You need only check the subject line.

disclaimer

This service is designed to help combat the growing problem of spam. Most customers find it very helpful in dramatically reducing spam. However, some spam will still leak through the filters.

More importantly, it is also possible for genuine emails to be marked as spam. Tagging is an indication that the email looks like spam, not a guarantee that it is spam. iiNet will not be held responsible should an email be tagged in error.
