alternate browsers & compatibility

compatibility with Internet Explorer 7

Web Accelerator operates well in the Internet Explorer 7 environment. However, some instability may be experienced as follows:

  • When upgrading from Internet Explorer 6 to 7 a corrupted registry file may result. This issue manifests from the Internet Explorer 7 upgrade mechanism and is unrelated to the Web Accelerator software itself.
  • Pop-up windows will briefly flash on screen before disappearing after being blocked by Web Accelerator. It is recommended that you turn on the browser’s in-built pop up blocking feature.
  • Following repeated use, the ‘Refresh Quality’ or ‘Refresh Page with Full Quality’ commands may cease to work. To prevent this:
    • Select ‘Disable Web Accelerator’ from the Web Accelerator system tray menu
    • Press Ctrl + F5 to reload the page
    • Select ‘Enable Web Accelerator’ from the menu

  • The web accelerator pop up blocking feature does not operate in Windows Vista. It is recommended that you turn on the browser’s in-built pop up blocking feature.
  • Following repeated use, the ‘Refresh Quality’ or ‘Refresh Page with Full Quality’ commands may cease to work. To prevent this:

Step 3 of the Web Accelerator diagnostics, which checks for packet loss on the accelerated connection, is skipped by the Windows Vista operating system. All other steps in the diagnostics proceed as expected.
